Skateboarding at School - Auckland - Learn how to skate

Working with schools and communities to safely integrate skateboarding into schools.

We aim to have skateboarding seen as a sport that is well integrated and welcomed into local schools by laying the groundwork within each school to facilitate sessions.

Changing kid’s lives one push at a time.

We know from experience that skateboarding has the potential to change a child’s life. Because of this, we want as many kids on boards as possible. This is a sport that the youth of today love, therefor it’s time that schools and communities cater for their student’s skate needs.

A few things are crucial for this to happen… Safety, equipment, space, permission, and guidance.

With our help, student’s can flourish as skaters within their schools and communities.

If you click on one of the boards you will see a little description telling you who the board is suitable for. Generally smaller feet need a smaller board and bigger feet need a bigger board! Exact age ranges are written next to the boards.

  • We offer a range of different types of lessons depending on what the school or community center needs. Give Tanja a call on 0220929121 to get the ball rolling or scroll down on our Lessons Page, you will see a section titled “For Schools & Centers”.

In schools we aim to start with in class lessons as part of the PE curriculum. These are a great way to give each student a taste for skateboarding. Then either lunchtime or after school lessons are to go to.

However, some schools prefer to just go for lunchtime or after school lessons. It just depends on what your school needs.

We also offer equipment packages to schools. These come with a good range of ramps, quality boards and helmets, as well as a few integration lessons to make sure things run smoothly with or without us there.

  • Our team is trained in preventing injuries. We know how to spot common mistakes, and we know how to teach in a way that minimises risk and prevents injuries.

Occasionally injuries do happen though usually these are mild bumps or bruises that heal quickly or that build mental strength and teaches respect for the sport and one’s own ability. Serious injuries are very, very rare at our lessons. In the last 2 years of operating we have run 100’s of lessons for 1000’s of skaters and have only had 2 fractured arms. This is more than the average number of injuries that happen on most school playgrounds every term.
